Crash Responders Safety Week

First responders are the first to arrive and provide aid when there is an emergency. These highly trained individuals put themselves at risk every day to support the public during a disaster, medical emergency, or accident and every year first responders are killed while working to save lives during a roadway crash. In an effort to promote how motorists can do their part to keep first responders safe while driving near a traffic accident, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration is sponsoring “Crash Responder Safety Week” (CRSW) which will take place this week from November 14th – 18th. CRSW will bring awareness to the danger of roadside incidents and share tips on how to keep first responders across the nation safe.

There are themes outlined for each day, which you will be able to locate additional information on the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Traffic Incident Management (TIM) website.
