The Ready, Set, Go! (RSG) Program is accepting proposals from fire departments for Fuels Reduction Projects. The program is provided by the USDA Forest Service through a cooperative agreement with the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC). All submissions are due by September 30, 2023.
Eligible Organizations
Organizations that are eligible include:
- Fire and emergency response agencies with demonstrated wildland fire risk in their area.
- Members of IAFC’s RSG Program. Membership is free and you can email program staff at RSG@iafc.org to learn more.
Wildfire Fuels Reduction Projects include grazing programs, development of a burn pad or debris collection site, defensible space projects, and more. The goal of this program is to encourage Fuels Reduction Projects in communities across the country. The funding received from this program can go towards staffing costs, purchases of small equipment, purchases of mitigation PPE, and more. There will be a maximum of $20,000 per department.
